The role
The City Manager in Paris builds Albert Connect's business unit in the city. This remote, commission-based role has two goals, and only two: build a team of Business Developers, and grow the number of service professionals who are members of Albert Connect in Paris. The City Manager recruits the Business Developers, trains them and leads them day to day; together they identify the best professionals of the city's service industry (concierges, hotel teams, agencies, drivers, villa and yacht operators, event and nightlife professionals, private chefs and every other trusted supplier), convince them to join, and onboard them on the marketplace until they are active: card complete, first listing published, first deal in sight. The City Manager is the owner of the city's growth, measured every month in Albert Keys by the members the business unit brings in and keeps active.
What you will do
- Build the business unit: recruit, appoint and train the Growth Executives of Paris, typically three to six, and give each of them a clear territory of the city's service industry (hotels, agencies, transport, villas and yachts, events and nightlife, dining).
- Lead the Growth Executives day to day: set weekly targets for professionals contacted and onboarded, review their pipeline, coach them on how to present Albert Connect, and replace those who do not deliver.
- Map the city's service industry: build and keep up to date the list of the professionals and businesses worth bringing in, and decide with the Growth Executives who approaches whom.
- Recruit members yourself: approach the city's most influential concierges, managers and suppliers, whose joining brings others with them.
- Onboard every new member until they are active: account opened, card complete with photo, first listing published, first answer to a brief.
- Grow and keep the city's active membership: follow each member's activity in Albert Keys and bring back those who go quiet.
- Report every month to the Country Manager on the business unit: Growth Executives, professionals contacted, members onboarded, members active.
- Hold the city to Albert Connect's standards: only vetted professionals are brought in, and a member who breaks the terms of use is taken off the board or banned.
What you bring
- A strong personal network in Paris's hospitality, travel, events or luxury services industry.
- Proven ability to recruit, motivate and lead a small commission-based team.
- Sales and business development skills: at ease approaching senior professionals, presenting a new service and closing their commitment.
- Organisation and discipline to run a pipeline week after week, with clear targets.
- Analytical skills to read the business unit's figures and act on them.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; proficiency in French or the local language is a plus.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritise multiple initiatives and deliver results in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
How you are paid
Commission-based and uncapped. You earn a share of Albert Connect's commission on every member you bring in, for as long as you work with Albert Connect, and a share of the commissions of the Business Developers of your business unit.
Nice to have
- Experience as a concierge, in guest relations, in luxury sales or in business development for a platform.
- Experience building a sales or ambassador team from scratch.
Six months from now
- At least one new member onboarded every week by you, and by each Growth Executive of your business unit.
- A business unit of three to six active Growth Executives.
- A steady number of new members onboarded in Paris every month.
- A growing share of the city's members active on the marketplace.
